A view from the Eyecare Trust
Welcome to the first edition of Vista magazine, the Eyecare Trust's new monthly newsletter. Vista is designed to keep you up-to-date with the Trust's ongoing programme of public information campaigns promoting all aspects of eye health and the importance of regular eye care. It will also provide information about the wide range of practitioner resources that the charity produces and details about how you can get involved with and support the Trust.

Board Changes at the Eyecare Trust
The Eyecare Trust today announced the appointment of two new trustees. Nigel Burnett Hodd BSc, FCOptom, Dip.CLP joins as a lay representative and Louise Devine BSc Hons has been elected to represent the Association of Optometrists (AOP). Click here for more details.

The ABC of AMD
The Eyecare Trust has published a new patient information leaflet on the subject of age-related macular degeneration. Written in plain English it provides patients with facts about AMD. Click here for more details.

Recent consumer press coverage generated by the Trust to promote positive eye care includes coverage on Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour as well as articles in Good Housekeeping magazine, Company magazine, Prima, Men’s Health, The Times, The Daily Telegraph and the Daily Express.
Parents put on UV Alert
The Eyecare Trust has launched a campaign to raise awareness of the importance of protecting children’s eyes from the damaging effects of UV.
The campaign includes a media campaign targeting national and local press, the publication of a patient information leaflet and online features. See www.eyecare-trust.org.uk for more information.
Exotic Eye Care
The Eyecare Trust has teamed up with exotic juice manufacturer, Rubicon, to highlight the role that nutrition can play in maintaining good eye health. Look out for the Eyecare Trust logo on Rubicon’s new natural papaya juice drink which hit supermarket shelves this month.
A joint campaign promoting the benefits of a healthy diet include a £multimillion ad campaign and the production of a patient information leaflet.

Congratulations to
